Bryella, First established in 1977 by husband and wife team Bryan and Elaine Marsh, is widely recognised as one of south Yorkshire's premier soft-furnishing manufacturers and suppliers.
Now under the management of Bryan and Elaine's son Gary, Bryella has gone from strength-to-strength in designing, manufacturing and installing high quality, soft furnishings and textiles.
Gary's aim was to take the business onto the next level. With the help of Enterprise Coaching, Bryella has been launched into the 21st century.
'For the first 40 years the company was totally paper based and we relied on the customers coming to us', says Gary. 'However, with the support from Enterprise Coaching the business has been galvanised. We now do everything via email and through our website, allowing us to reach large numbers of customers world-wide at the click of a button'.
Gary had coaching in marketing and HR as well as day-to-day support from John Heckingbottom of the Barnsley Development Agency, which has led to increased sales and the recruitment of a showroom manager and factory manager, giving Gary more time to develop other areas of the business.
'I'm now working on expanding the interior design side of the business, taking on full projects with the help of a professional decorator'.
'I had a vision of where I wanted the business to go and the help offered through Enterprising Barnsley has enabled me to achieve this quickly and effectively.
'It's great that we have managed to open a showroom nearby our workshop at Bullhouse Mill, recruit new staff and increase sales all during a recession.'
