Adam Claydon approached Enterprising Barnsley for support with the set up of his new accountancy firm Claydon Accountancy based in Barnsley town centre.
Claydon Accountancy offer general accountancy advice and services to businesses such as bookkeeping, payroll and tax consultancy. Adam Claydon has recently been shortlisted for the Business Person of the Year Award by Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber.
When Adam decided to launch his own business he was very conscious that whilst he had the accountancy skills to deliver a great service to his clients, he needed some support from Enterprising Barnsley in developing the skills required to set up and run a business.
From attending one of our open days, Adam was able to sign up to various workshops and other start up services. This included support in establishing and retaining a client base, advice and guidance on marketing and how to recruit and train members of staff.
Adam was thrilled with the level of support that he received from Enterprising Barnsley. In addition to the workshops, this included ongoing mentoring and coaching from an experienced business coach who was available to answer a whole range of questions throughout the start up process.
Claydon Accountancy has gone from strength to strength and now has a growing client base across Yorkshire and beyond. When asked to comment on the success of his business, Adam highlights, ‘Initially there was just me rattling around in my little office looking after 3 clients, a year on before I knew it, I’ve now got near on a 100 clients and we employ five staff!
Enterprising Barnsley’s Sarah Valentine-Bull comments: “Adam and his team have achieved so much in setting up Claydon Accountancy. We are looking forward to supporting them as their business grows further over the coming years”.
