This Masterclass will help managers to understand the business planning cycle, processes used to develop plans and the manager’s role in it.
It describes activities in all parts of a business from Marketing, to Finance and Operations and demonstrates how plans come together.
Methods for calculating future resources will be discussed and delegates will be able to apply the techniques in their own areas. Time will be allowed for practice exercises and group discussion.
It will also cover techniques for performance monitoring and show how managers use them to make decisions. The difference between the measurement of input and outputs will be explained.
Delegates will be asked to bring non-sensitive examples of performance monitors from their own organisations and will be encouraged to discuss these.

Who is the masterclass for?
This Masterclass is for all growing SMEs within the Sheffield City Region, as long as the eligibility criteria is met.
It is primarily for those who have taken on a management role for the first time or those who aspire to do so. It will be equally useful for managers who have been in their role for some time and would like to refresh their skills and knowledge.
This event will be delivered by the ‘Sheffield City Region Growth Hub Enhancement Project’ that is part-funded by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The project, for high-growth businesses in the Sheffield City Region, aims to increase their competitiveness and so help them grow and prosper.
