Human Behaviour : How it Can be a Positive Force for Your Business

With Lisa Walker of White Apple Thinking Ltd

In this session, Lisa will explore human behaviour and how it knits in to the ways in which everybody does business. It consists of three components; Actions, Cognitions and Emotions and you need to understand all three.

This workshop will be an interactive experience for attendees with time for personal reflection, development insights, note taking and sharing of personal and professional anecdotes for further, real-life examples.

• A look at where individuals see themselves right now, both personally and professionally
• Where you need to develop and focus your effort
• Understanding self-sabotage behaviours. Why they are there and how to combat them
• What’s important to you and your business and how to convey that to others
• How to achieve more both professionally and personally
• Good communication techniques, including networking, conflict resolution and influencing
• Knowing who to surround yourself with and who to avoid
• Effective goal setting; knowing your why and setting SMART goals
• What to do if it doesn’t all go to plan – building business and personal resilience

• Greater clarity and more focus on the areas of development that really matter
• Raised awareness of your own and your business’ needs
• Understanding why we behave the way we do and how to overcome limiting beliefs and unhelpful behaviours

• A toolkit for beating common self-sabotage behaviours, including procrastination, fear of failure and perfectionism
• Knowing how to motivate yourself and others around you
• Understanding what’s important to you and your business, an introduction to the values of the organisation and how to share those with staff
• A plan of action for the next three months with clear goals

There will be an opportunity for a maximum of fifteen Launchpad clients to receive an e-mail update after one month, around the goals set during the workshop, problems encountered in the first few weeks and a discussion of self-sabotage behaviours that may be affecting the success and achievement of identified goals.

Here are just some of the ways in which organisational behaviour matters to people and the organisations in which they are employed;
• Businesses that accurately appraise the work of their employees enjoy lower costs and higher productivity
• Employees who are satisfied with the way they are treated at work are generally more pleasant to their colleagues and are less likely to quit, than those who are dissatisfied with the way others treat them
• People who are carefully trained to work together in teams, tend to be happier and more productive than those who are simply thrown together, without any definite organisational support
• Employees who believe they have been treated unfairly at work are more likely to steal from their employers and reject the policies of their organisations, than those who believe they have been fairly treated
• Workers who are mistreated by their bosses experience more mental and physical illness than those who are treated with kindness, dignity and respect
• Businesses that offer good employee benefits and that have friendly conditions are more profitable than those who are less people oriented
