Local Restriction Support Grant Update

Following the new tiered system of restrictions that will come into force from 00:01 on Wednesday 2 December 2020, there has been an update to the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) to help businesses that have a business rates account but will remain closed due to the government’s local lockdown restrictions.
Leisure (gyms) businesses that have now been allowed to reopen, will also be eligible for the grant.
How to Qualify
To qualify for a grant your business must have been:
- open as usual before the restrictions
- registered for business rates at the premises on 16 October 2020
- required to remain closed due to the tier 3 restrictions imposed by the government
- Leisure (gyms) businesses that have now been allowed to reopen, will also be eligible.
The amounts you will receive depend on the rateable value of the property and the length of time that the business remains closed.
Payments will be made automatically and as follows:
Rateable value of premises | Grant payment per 2 weeks |
£15,000 or under | £667 |
£15,001 to £50,999 | £1000 |
£51,000 or over | £1500 |
An initial payment will be made covering two weeks following the government plan to review the system every two weeks. Payments will continue to be made every two weeks whilst the restrictions are in place.
Payments will be made automatically and payments will be processed as early as Wednesday 2 December 2020.
